One of the first few things I did first after my break started was to apply for jobs. I was so determined to get one even though my family was very skeptical at first but then they changed their minds when I really did go from one store to another asking for job vacancies. Till now, I've done 3 rounds of job applications.
- Job-hunting at Aeon : From what I remember, the stores that I went and ask for jobs are this random gift shop, Daily Fresh, Daiso, Popular Bookstore, Kidzoona (in which these store had none), Cheetah, Crocs and Padini. I actually filled up some forms at Padini and was about to start working on Friday but something happened.
- Calling tuition centres : I called 3 of them but 2 rejected me saying 1. They only teach Mandarin 2. No job vacancy. Lastly, I called Kumon and the person in charged said she's looking for a tutor which was perfect. I went for the interview the next day (the same Friday), did some tests and I'm scheduled to start working this Monday morning. Quite nervous too.
- Applying online : Today I woke up real early and had the urge to email my resumes to some companies that I'm interested in working with. Two of them being tutoring positions and one was a data counting job. The salary was much more promising but my main focus is to gain experience.
I just realised I am inclined towards teaching jobs I don't know why. Maybe they are much more suited for me as my family mentioned that my face doesn't have any commercial values thus it's not preferred (for me) working at retail stores.
Till then!
