Sushi making class

    Saturday
    21//04//2018
    0730 - 1200 hours
πŸ“Sushi King, Aeon Ipoh Station 18

My Japanese class had planned this a few weeks back. Actually, it was our sensei's idea during the early of semester but we only had time on week 14 to do so.

Couldn't sleep the whole night before not because I was excited or anything. It's just I've fucked up my sleeping pattern. Having no class for the past few days plus the fact I couldn't pray had given me the privilege to sleep late and wake up not caring what time it is in the afternoon.

We arrived at Aeon around 0845, the doors were not even opened yet. Our instructor? was called Shah-san and he was very helpful throughout the event. We started by taking care of our hygiene which was washing our hands (but then we continued playing with our dirty phones using the already washed hands so what is purpose). Shah-san taught us basic Japanese terms like γŠγ―γ‚ˆγ†γ”γ–γ„γΎγ™ and いっらしゃいませ which we already learnt in class but there were new words like rice tub ➜ γ―γ‚“γŽγ‚Š and rice paddle? ➜γ—γ‚ƒγ‚‚γ˜ (sorry I'm too lazy to look em up) and then the chef proceeded to show us how they handle their sticky rice using both tub and paddle. Some of us tried doing something with the rice. He said not to squeeze, just spread the rice yea leave that to some 20ish year olds with too much energy to do that.

Now comes the best part. The first hand experience on how to make sushi 🍣. We made 7 sushi altogether; nigiri (my whole life I believed it was called onigiri I have lived 22 years in such lies), 2 gunkan maki, inarizushi? (this once I googled cause I can't remember but then again I don't recall the chef saying this name), futomaki? or hosomaki?, uramaki and temaki. We used that rolling thingy makisu? It was fun even though I don't really eat sushi hahah. The rice balls were prepared machines so that eased thing a bit. I'll the process in details later.

There was mini competition but I didn't participate cause apparently I have no hidden talent in making sushi. We took photos and got a bento each. Tried to finish it during dinner but I'm full af.

I straightaway fell asleep once I reached my room. Overall it was a good experience πŸ˜‹

Back in uni

I just got back to my uni this morning. Feeling sad but what can I do.

I just wanna rant tho.

Sometimes I hate myself for liking something too much and I cant do shit to please myself with it. For instance, rn I'm into kpop and seeing other fans having the privilege to attend concerts makes me sad. Tho I think it's better for me to not go to any of those events at all cause... idk. It's better that way. Gosh, why cant I be someone who's into studying why why why?

A 3 day KL trip

Last two week, I finished my first wave of tests ➡️ Test 1. Imagine two weeks of 6 back to back tests, I felt like I sat for finals. Anyways, I had already planned on going to KL to have a short getaway after all that shizzles and so I did.

My friend and I rode the bus from a station near my university to TBS. Supposedly, we were to leave at 0945 but the bus came late at 1030 ish, doing the Malay style. I slept 3/4 of the journey cause I hit the sack around 0430 the night before phew. We arrived at TBS at 1400 and parted ways at the ERL. Then I took a GrabCar πŸš– to Putrajaya and waited for my aunty to finish her work at her office while I tried to get some work done (but I failed).

We left the house early and took the LRT to KLCC. I think it was around an hour for us to reach there. The first store that we went to was The Body Shop. My aunty bought me a Fuji Green Tea Body Butter cause they were on a buy 3 free 1 promo. Then we went to Kinokuniya cause I wanted to find some new journals. Though I couldn't exactly belek The Travelers' Note journals (they were displayed behind locked glass cabinets, well premium stuffs), I found some very similar ones for a cheaper price. I also got to touch the Leuchtterm journals though I dont really like their layouts.

Then this lucky girl found the Mildliner highlighters, yes I was over the moon. I bought almost the whole set. 5 colours were missing, oh well. Got my hands on some cute Sumikko Garashi stuff and stickers too. Paid them using my Kad Siswa ahh free stuffs.

After that we stopped at Muji. My dream finally came true 😍 I was in awe looking at all the stuffs there tho I didnt visit the other section except for the stationeries one. Wanted to buy their best selling highlighters but then I remembered I just hauled a lot of them at Kino. The clear containers were expensive so I just cried inside and the diffusers seem so fancy I want one *sigh* The struggle of a penniless student. Spent few seconds on the stamping section to stamp a black target logo on my notebook. Overall I was very happy with my findings πŸ“”πŸ—’️πŸ–Š️πŸ–️.

Later, we went to Typo and NU Sentral's Samsung cause my cousin wanted to buy a new phone. Rode the LRT back home at around 1700, had pizza for dinner (delivery) and slept early cause I heard strange noises from the upper level.
